The Battle of Oslo

I was expecting to write a post about the hard fought battle of Oslo. 90 minutes of suffering in pouring rain. In the end there was no rain, much to my elation, and there wasn’t any real suffering either. Antonio Conte made his competitive debut as coach of the Italian national team easily picking up 3 points. Simone Zaza opened up the scoring after just 15 minutes, and Leonardo Bonucci doubled Italy’s lead in the second half. Antonio Conte’s men now face two simple matches against Azerbaijan and Malta in October. A victory in both of those matches would mean that qualification is more or less in the bag. Not a bad start.
