I made the trip down to Norrköping yesterday to cover Djurgårdens final game of the season. The later half of this season has been incredibly exciting with all three Stockholm teams challenging for the title. As we moved into the final match day there were three options. Djurgården winning the leagues in Norrköping, Malmö winning the league in Örebro, or Hammarby winning the league in Stockholm.

The game started out with a huge shock as Norrköping took the lead and then doubled it up, closing out the first half with a 2-0 lead. With Djurgården only needing a point to win the league I had been so certain that they had it in the bag. But after that first half … at that point I was certain I drove for 2 hours for nothing. Nothing seemed to work for Djurgården in the first half and scoring two goals in the second half seemed like an impossible task.

Luckily for me Djurgården came out in the second half and turned it and the trip to Norrköping was not in vain. Jesper Karlström reduced the score line and then who else but Buya Turay to score the 2-2 goal and secure the Allsvenskan title.
