Last night it was back to Tele2 arena to cover Djurgårdens first home match of the 2016 Allsvenskan season. Djurgårdens season got off to a great start as they picked up a convincing 2-0 win away to Örebro. For their second game they meet Falkenbergs FF who lost their opening game to IFK Göteborg. I have to say I did not expect see Falkenberg crushed by Djurgården. Especially so convincingly, but I guess they were having one of those nights.
Djurgården took a quick lead when Elliot Käck connected with Sam Johnson. Five minutes later Seon-Min Moon earned a penalty when a Falkenberg player deflected his pass with his hands. New arrival Mathias Renégie took the penalty extending the lead to 2-0 and essentially killing the game. It the second half things got crazy. Elliot Käck again connected with Sam Johnson to make it 3-0. Ten minutes later Kevin Walker took a corner kick and scored making it 4-0. Four minutes later Kevin Walker went to take another corner kick and linked with Omar Colley who made it 5-0.
All in all an incredibly entertaining night for the 15,134 supporters who made it out to Tele2 Arena last night. This is the first time Djurgården has won their first two matches of the season since 2003. The question now is if this team has legs and can go the distance.
Thanks for stoping by!
