The following night I was back at Hovet and photographing AIK’s hockey team. Who, unlike Djurgården, is playing in Elitserien which is the top hockey division in Sweden.
It’s been a busy week with plenty of sports to shoot. I started out my first two hockey matches of the season filling in for my Pic Agency colleagues at both Djurgården and AIK’s hockey matches.
For the start second half we got treated to a light and pyrotechnic show from the fans. The smoke seemed stronger than usual and you really have no choice but to abandon ship and move out of the way.
Yesterday was the final derby between Djurgården IF and AIK at Råsunda Stadium. Next year both teams will move to new arenas and Råsunda Stadium, which hosted the 1958 World Cup, will eventually be demolished and replaced with apartment buildings.
Snapped it with my iPhone while going for a run this morning. Converted to black & white with Camera+ and eventually dumped on Instagram where it got the square crop treatment.
A.C. Azzurri is a team playing in the seventh division of the Swedish football league. Traditionally it’s consisted mostly of Italian immigrants (or the children of immigrants) that live in Stockholm.
Celebrate my hundred and first post on this site by doing some house cleaning on the WordPress installation. I’ve decided to remove comments and kill a bunch of plugins.
Just wanted to share a quick Aperture tip about the “Primary Only” option in the Edit menu.
It hasn’t been all AIK that I’ve photographer in the past month. Yesterday I was back at Råsunda Stadium and photographing Djurgården as they meet Helsingborg.
It’s been a while since I’ve made a post here, but that doesn’t mean that I’ve been sitting on butt and enjoying the summer weather. During this last month I’ve gotten to cover a fair amount of AIK games for one of my colleagues who has been on summer vacation.
I wanted to compile some links that could be useful to anyone that’s purchased Canon’s EOS-1D X camera.
