Last evening I attended and photographed UFC Fuel in Stockholm, Sweden. It was a fantastic experience that I will not be forgetting anytime soon.
Today is Saturday April 14th and I am now only a couple hours away from walking out the door with my camera bag and heading towards Globen to photograph UFC Fuel.
On Saturday night the UFC will make it’s debut in Sweden and I will be one of the lucky ones. Blessed with one of the best seats in the house right next to the Octagon.
For a long time I’ve been looking forward to the start of the Swedish football season. During the winter I have much less to photograph for Pic-Agency.
Since I started photographing sports for Pic-Agency I’ve gotten to attend a lot of matches and see a lot of sports that I’ve never really followed. Yesterday was another such occasion as I got to shoot a handball match between two Stockholm team’s Hammarby IF and Caperiotumba.
Last night was the final basketball derby of the season. A match between 08 Stockholm and the Solna Vikings, and the atmosphere last night was great.
As a working photographer you expect that sooner or later you will find your images being stolen and used on the internet. In some ways it’s a cost of doing business in this day and age.
Last night I went and photographed Stockholm’s hockey derby between AIK and Djurgården.
In Sweden basketball is not a popular sport. As a matter of fact, it’s pretty far down the pecking order behind hockey, football (soccer), and many other sports.
I’m not shooting much Elitserien hockey this season as I mostly filling in when other photographers are unavailable. This past Thurday I got to shoot my first hockey game of 2012, it was a match between Stockholm’s Djurgården IF and Gothenburg’s Frölunda HC.
Venezia, or Venice as it’s called in English, holds a special place in my heart. Venice is the capital of the Veneto region of Italy, which is where I’m from, and is a city I visited a lot with my family when I was young.
